This dish can be prepared as a paella if you have a paella pan at home (the recommended size for 4 people is 30โ€“35 cm). However, for those who don’t have one, it also works well using a saucepan, a cast-iron pot (cocotte), or even a deep skillet โ€”as explained in the instructionsโ€” which is why we call it “Valencian-style rice”.
